No blogging has happened for a bit again. Busy again...but what else is new? I have been working an 11-day week. our big labor day sale is happening this weekend of course, and I have had to work overtime to make sure everything is getting ready! its been crazy but things have finally come together. my last couple days before the sale should be pretty easy going. I don't have to actually work over the sale weekend, so yay! I'll be enjoying Labor Day for the first time at the beach since sometime in high school! anyway, here's an updated picture of the puppy. she is the only thing I ever take pictures of anymore... :)

busy busy girl

so i have been MIA lately. summer school ended the middle of june and i moved to the beach. i worked at riding camp while i was in school, which was so fun, and i really miss QRS. i started a new job and got my puppy and the past few weeks have been crazy between the two! i picked out paisley when she was only 4 days old, and when i went back to look at them again at around 4 weeks, i decided i wanted to stick with my original choice. she's a great puppy and a lot of fun. oh yeah, the job is going much better now too. i am getting the hang of being a reporter and starting to get to know people in the towns! i am hoping that maybe one day it can be a full-time job....career...yeah one of those...

anyway, here are some pictures from the summer! i'm sad its almost over, at least i dont have to leave the beach like everyone else!

we went to aruba for a week in between my spring exams and the beginning of summer school. it was hot hot hotttt and very windy most days. it did rain a few days, which is weird considering aruba never gets rain! it was a fun trip overall though! even with the rain we got lots of sun, had some fun drinks, saw a LOT of lizards, and some amazing food. here are some pictures.

if you haven't been paying attention, the tarheels won their 5th national championship last night. the game was awesome, beating michigan state fairly easily 89-72! we were ahead by 20 for most of the game. the game was great, the party was great. here are a few pictures, and watch the video from the daily tar heel that is linked!

so today my mom came to my riding lesson...despite her fear of horses. she was able to take a LOT of videos of me while i was riding! i love them and thought id share a few with everyone :) my jumping is needing some serious work, but were trying!

cup 09: rain or shine......or sick

i went to columbia for the weekend to go to carolina cup. and despite the terrible forcast, i was determined to have fun. friday night was fun: beer + salty nut + unc basketball (elite 8!)! saturday was not so fun...woke up with a terrible stomachache and was just not feeling good at all. i made it to carolina cup in the pouring rain for about two hours before deciding i just wanted to be in bed. i was soaking wet within probably 10 minutes of being at the tents. i did get to see locke though, and some other people, but not nearly as many as i wanted to! then of course, sunday was beautiful and i woke up after about 10 hours of sleep feeling much better. wish saturday could have been pretty! AND i only took one picture :( so oh well for a not-so-fun cup weekend, but at least i made it for a little bit...and got to eat salty nut-- TWICE!

101-87

last night was the big UNC duke game at duke. it could have gone either way being we were number 3 and duke was number 5...but the heels played a good game and didn't give up...well except for those few minutes we were losing... but overall we came through in second half! after the game we rushed up to franklin street. i took so many pictures and some videos of the craziness! it was my first time at carolina doing this...i don't know what i was doing last year for the game but i was probably too far away to get there. driving a car anywhere near franklin is not a good idea on nights like that! it was awesome, crowded, smokey from the various fires, and hot! way to go heels!

after franklin street started clearing out my roommates and i ran to la rez to hang out and maybe catch a glance of roy's boys? oh we got more than a glance..how about this picture!?!


oh and the best part about today? duke's newspaper is printed in carolina blue and the bottom corner says "unc: still the best" :)

so lauren found out that the benjy davis project was playing in charlotte this weekend and we decided to go! it was a lot of fun but a LATE night...they were supposedly playing at this bar at 10:30. well we get there and it turns out that there are 3 other bands/singers BEFORE them. needless to say, benjy didn't start playing until 12:30 or 1. it was fun though (as always). love benjy davis! i recorded a short video of the end of sweet southern moon...



and the other good part about the weekend is i got to see sara and chad's new apartment. so cute :) and its always good to see my favorite married couple!

the only real downside to the trip: we got lost leaving charlotte. the gps didn't know where to go haha-- we figured it out eventually and got back in time to watch the second half of carolina beating state!

bandaids

so i have approximately 4 bandaids on my feet. breaking in new boots isn't so fun, but for some reason they don't hurt when i'm wearing them?! strange... i guess wearing them 3 days a week will break them in sooner than later...
today was quite busy...class at 9, class at noon, barn the rest of the day...then i came home and didn't feel so good so i relaxed for a little bit before starting my pages and pages of reading....ancient italian architecture is not so interesting to me tonight. maybe ill finish it tomorrow....

as for carolina basketball-- WHATTT is going on?!?!?! i'm not a huge fan of this losing, then winning, then losing..i'm still awaiting the outcome of the game vs. florida state. so far not so good....i don't know what's happened with my tarheels..........they need a bandaid to fix their game?

starting out

so i felt like i needed something else to waste my time with...why not a blog? i'm in the journalism school so i might as well write. i am currently working at the barn 3 times a week and it's making me want a horse more than ever!! i love being there, but unfortunately i'll have to find a new barn when i move to the beach in june... hopefully i'll find somewhere i love just as much! i think riding has been the best hobby for me to pick up again because it really helps me relax. other than that i'm just trying to finish up school and get a real job (besides playing with horses all day (:)
